HR Team Fired After Manager's Own Resume Gets Auto-Rejected In Seconds
A shocking discovery led to the termination of an entire HR team after a manager uncovered a critical error in the company's applicant tracking system (ATS). The system, designed to streamline hiring, was automatically rejecting all job candidates, including the manager's test application. Sharing his experience on Reddit, the manager revealed that the HR department had struggled to find suitable candidates for three months, unaware of the systemic issue.
He then decided to conduct an investigation.
He created a pseudonym, submitted his resume, and was shocked when it was automatically rejected within seconds 😂.
He wrote on Reddit, "I've created myself a new email and sent them a modified version of my CV with a fake name to see what was going on with the process and guess, I got auto rejected." Despite his impressive qualifications, he was instantly rejected without any human oversight. "I got auto-rejected. HR didn't even look at my CV," he shared.

How could the HR team fail to notice that no candidates were being selected for interviews for three months?

[gemsbond](username) they may trust on ATS more than their own hiring skills. If HR can take 3 months for just a response to the candidate so it is possible they weren't able to identify the error of ATS in 3 months.
As mentioned in the press release, the HR team does not even check the applied candidates application by themselves.

Gosh! There should be clear channels for employees to report issues and concerns without fear of reprisal.

The ATS was clearly malfunctioning, but it's unclear if the HR team was responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the system. If so, they may have failed to identify and address the issue.

[importantscorpion](username) as the ATS is an online application which is an intermediate between candidate-and-HR which filters the resume on the parameters they provided.
But if continuously for 3 months they do not check what is happening, don't even check any application manually for cross check then it's a fault of HR.
How is an ATS vendor able to know if the user does not log any call for service/maintenance.

[a software developer](username) From what I’ve heard, the company is now reevaluating its ATS system and adding more manual checks to prevent this from happening again.

Did the manager mention if they plan to improve the system after this incident?
