Can we change domain after 16 years of experience?

I'm working as a technical manager (Java based) in a global Bank having 16 years of experience, my whole career is with banking and financial services. Current CTC is 34LPA. Now I think to change my job to get more salary, i get very few calls for interview because of 3 months notice period, and few of them were from different domains ( health care, logistics etc.). Is it wise to change domain? Or better to look for internal jobs with the bank?

Honestly, I think staying in BFSI could be more rewarding for you in the long term. Banks and financial institutions value deep domain expertise.

IMO, Switching domains is definitely possible, but you need to position yourself strategically!

Logistics I feel is more tech-driven now, with IoT, AI, and automation playing huge roles. If you're ready to adapt, I think the domain could offer great opportunities for growth.

Your expertise in Java and BFSI could bring a unique perspective to other industries like healthcare or logistics. Have you explored how your skills align with these domains?

But exploring other domains could be exciting too have you looked into roles where your BFSI knowledge might overlap, like fintech or insurtech?

Changing domains is definitely possible, but the change should be absolutely targeted and a bit relevant to your current domain.
