Am I Eligible for a Lead Promotion at Carelon as a Senior QA with 8 Years of Experience?

Hello everyone, I’m seeking advice about career progression. I’ve been working as a QA professional for 8 years at Carelon Global Solutions. During this time, I’ve contributed to multiple teams and projects, focusing on manual testing and delivering quality solutions. While I’ve consistently worked towards team goals and met performance expectations, I’m unsure if my experience and contributions make me eligible for a promotion at this stage. I’d like to ask the community: 1. With 8 years of QA experience at Carelon, am I likely to be considered for a promotion? 2. What criteria or benchmarks are typically evaluated for promotions in similar roles? 3. How can I strengthen my case if I’m not currently eligible? Any insights or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I’ve been struggling with this same question for a while! How do you typically approach conversations with management about promotions?

From your experience, do you think internal certifications (like ISTQB) help in securing promotions in the QA field?
