Groundnut purchases at MSP tops 13.38 lakh tonnes
- The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (Nafed) recorded groundnut purchases at MSP of 13.38 lakh tonnes.
- The majority of groundnut procurement occurred in Gujarat, with over 9.22 lakh tonnes purchased between November 11, 2024 and February 14, 2025.
- Rajasthan saw groundnut purchases at MSP of over 3.42 lakh tonnes, with ongoing procurement expected to end this month.
- Government agencies also procured over 14.73 lakh tonnes of soyabean at MSP, with Maharashtra accounting for over half of the procurement.

Price Of Food Corporation Rice Cut By Rs 550 Per Quintal Under Open Market Sale Scheme
- The Centre has reduced the reserve price of rice provided by the Food Corporation of India under the Open Market Sale Scheme by Rs 550 per quintal to Rs 2,250.
- State governments and state-run corporations can purchase up to 12 lakh tonnes, while ethanol distilleries are allowed to buy up to 24 lakh tonnes at a reduced rate.
- Private traders and cooperatives will continue to pay Rs 2,800 per quintal, while central cooperatives like Nafed, NCCF, and Kendriya Bhandar selling under the 'Bharat' brand will pay Rs 2,400 per quintal.
- The revision aims to enhance food security, support states in fulfilling welfare scheme obligations, and promote ethanol production.

Centre Procures Record 13.73 Lakh Tonnes Of Soybean Under MSP Scheme
- The Centre has procured a record 13.73 lakh tonnes of soybean under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme.
- The procurement has surpassed all previous records, with the last highest procurement being 19,483 tonnes in 2018-19.
- The procurement represents 41% of the total sanctioned quantity of 33.85 lakh tonnes.
- The procurement is being carried out through nodal agencies Nafed and NCCF at a support price of Rs 4,892 per quintal across six states.
