Quantity & Quality Surveyor - Projects (Interiors)

Job Overview:

The Quantity & Quality Surveyor Projects (Interiors) is responsible for managing the costs, quality, and contract aspects of interior fit-out and refurbishment projects. The role involves coordinating with various teams to ensure that the project stays on budget, meets quality standards, and is delivered on time. You will be tasked with preparing detailed cost estimates, assessing risks, and monitoring the progress of the project to ensure alignment with specifications, timelines, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quantity Surveying:

• Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for interior projects including materials, labour, and other associated costs.
• Tendering & Procurement: Manage tendering processes, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and recommending the most suitable contractors and suppliers.
• Cost Control: Monitor project costs, track variations, and provide regular reports on project financials, ensuring projects are completed within budget.
• Contract Administration: Assist in the preparation, negotiation, and management of contracts with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Measurement & Valuation: Measure and quantify materials, labour, and other resources for cost analysis and procurement purposes.

2. Quality Assurance:

• Quality Control: Ensure all works conform to the projects design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Site Inspections: Conduct regular inspections during the construction/installation phase to ensure compliance with design drawings, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any quality-related issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, test reports, and quality compliance logs.
• Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with the project manager, design team, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the quality of work aligns with client expectations.

3. Project Coordination:

• Schedule Monitoring: Collaborate with the project manager to track progress and ensure that the interior fit-out projects are on schedule.
• Risk Management: Identify potential project risks related to quality, costs, and schedule and suggest solutions to mitigate those risks.

4. Documentation & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with relevant local laws, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Maintain all necessary documentation related to procurement, contracts, change orders, and project reports.
• Assist with the preparation of final accounts upon project completion.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying and quality control for interior fit-out and renovation projects.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of cost estimating and cost control techniques.
• Excellent understanding of quality assurance practices, with experience in interior projects.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
• Knowledge of building codes, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Ability to interpret design and construction drawings.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
