Site Engineer (MEP & HVAC)

Job Overview:

The Site Engineer for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) is responsible for overseeing the execution of MEP and HVAC systems on-site. This position ensures that installation, testing, and commissioning processes are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with the project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervision and Coordination:

• Supervise and manage the installation of MEP and HVAC systems as per project specifications.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Monitor day-to-day site activities to ensure they align with the project schedule.

2. Design & Technical Support:

• Review and understand MEP & HVAC drawings and project specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and support for installation and troubleshooting of MEP systems.
• Ensure that all installations meet local building codes, health & safety standards, and project specifications.

3. Quality Control & Compliance:

• Inspect work and ensure the quality of installation work is in compliance with approved drawings and project standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and prepare reports on site progress, highlighting any issues or delays.
• Perform testing, commissioning, and ensure systems are functioning as designed.

4. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

• Enforce safety practices and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
• Conduct safety inspections and meetings to identify hazards and mitigate risks.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare and maintain daily site progress reports, including documentation on the status of installations, testing, and inspections.
• Report any discrepancies or issues encountered on-site to the Project Manager for resolution.
• Ensure proper documentation for all system installations, approvals, and handover procedures.

6. Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting:

• Address any technical challenges or issues arising during the installation or operation of MEP and HVAC systems.
• Work closely with the design team to find solutions to any design-related issues or discrepancies on site.

7. Client & Stakeholder Communication:

• Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure smooth communication and alignment of expectations.
• Attend site meetings and provide progress updates to clients and senior management.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in MEP & HVAC systems installation and site management.
• Experience in large-scale construction projects is preferred.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong understanding of MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and HVAC design, installation, and commissioning.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, local building codes).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Software Skills: Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office Suite.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to work on-site and travel as required.

• Professional certifications in HVAC, MEP, or project management are advantageous.

Working Conditions:
