Senior Engineering Manager - Java Programming (1-2 yrs)

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Team Management :

- Lead, mentor, and manage high-performance teams, including in-house and vendor resources.

- Foster a collaborative, innovative environment to promote continuous improvement and empower future leaders.

- Provide technical and managerial guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.

Project & Delivery Management :

- Oversee project schedules, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery.

- Utilize expertise in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and Iterative frameworks, to manage and execute complex projects effectively.

- Establish clear project goals, track progress, and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Banking Domain Expertise :

- Leverage over 10 years of banking domain experience to develop high-impact applications tailored to financial institutions.

- Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in the financial sector.

- Guide teams in creating robust solutions for transactions, data security, and financial reporting systems.

Agile Transformation & Scrum Practices :

- Drive agile transformation and coach teams in adopting agile methodologies and tools.

- Mentor teams to excel in Scrum practices, fostering efficiency and continuous improvement.

- Act as a Scrum Master when needed, facilitating sprints, retrospectives, and agile ceremonies.

Design & Architecture :

- Lead the design and development of scalable reference architectures with a focus on microservices using Spring Boot.

- Ensure application reliability, scalability, and performance by following best practices in system design.

- Work closely with architects to implement robust, future-ready solutions.

DevOps Implementation.

- Champion DevOps practices by leading the integration and management of CI/CD pipelines.

- Work with cross-functional teams to streamline development and deployment processes using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and Azure DevOps.

- Ensure automation in testing and deployment to improve productivity and reduce errors.

Stakeholder Engagement :

- Maintain effective communication with business and technical stakeholders to align on project goals.

- Prepare and deliver updates, manage expectations, and address challenges promptly.

- Build strong client relationships to drive business growth and trust.

Quality Assurance & Performance :

- Oversee application performance tuning and optimization efforts.

- Ensure adherence to quality standards through rigorous testing, review processes, and governance.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Experience & Leadership :

- 16+ years of IT experience with 10+ years in the banking domain.

- Proven track record as a Senior Engineering Manager, Scrum Master, or in similar leadership roles.

Technical Expertise :

- Proficiency in Java/J2EE, Microservices, Spring Boot, and enterprise-level application development.

- Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and scaling microservices architectures.

Agile & DevOps :

- Extensive experience in agile transformations, Scrum practices, and managing agile teams.

- Strong background in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline setup and management.

Banking Domain Knowledge :

- Deep understanding of financial systems, transactions, and industry regulations.

- Experience in delivering banking projects that align with compliance and security standards.

Soft Skills :
