Job Description

The Purchase Executive is responsible for managing the procurement of agri inputs and other products required by farmers. This role involves negotiating with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery, maintaining inventory levels, and adhering to budgetary constraints. The Purchase Executive will work closely with the quality control and finance teams to ensure smooth operations and contribute to the overall efficiency of the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers for raw materials, agri inputs, agri and dairy machinery, hardware, plastic pipes, irrigation sets, cattle feed, and other necessary products required by farmers. Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
  • Procurement Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely availability of required materials. Coordinate with the production team to understand material requirements and align procurement activities accordingly. Monitor market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstock situations. Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies. Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure proper storage and handling of materials.
  • Cost Control: Ensure that procurement activities are conducted within the allocated budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality. Prepare and analyze procurement reports to track expenses and identify trends.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements. Maintain accurate records of all procurement transactions, contracts, and agreements. Assist in internal and external audits related to procurement activities.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the finance department to ensure timely payments to suppliers. Coordinate with the quality control team to address any issues related to the quality of procured materials. Provide regular updates to the management team on procurement status and challenges.

Apply if you have:

  • A Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in the procurement of agri inputs, agrichemicals, biologicals, agri machinery, dairy implements, cattle feed, etc
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Knowledge of agricultural products, equipment, and market trends.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
