Job Description

Join our dynamic team at WCT and be a part of the exciting Microsoft Data Center project. As a Senior Engineer, youll play a crucial role in providing top-tier L2-L3 support for AVS infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, collaborate with industry experts, and make a significant impact on a high-growth, fast-paced project.

Responsibilities:

AVS Backend Support Troubleshooting:

Provide L2/L3 support for AVS infrastructure and virtualization issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to vSphere, vSAN, NSX-T, and AVS networking.
Work closely with customer support engineers to perform root cause analysis (RCA) and proactive issue resolution.
Monitor and manage AVS clusters, ensuring high availability and performance.

Incident Management Escalations:

Handle customer escalations and critical incidents in AVS environments.
Collaborate with internal support teams and VMware GSS for troubleshooting.
Document known issues, create knowledge base (KB) articles, and contribute to service improvements.
Support disaster recovery (DR) scenarios using VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM).

AVS Infrastructure Operations:

Maintain and optimize AVS environments, including vCenter, NSX-T, and storage configurations.
Assist with ExpressRoute and networking configurations for AVS customers.
Perform capacity planning, patch management, and performance tuning for AVS clusters.
Support VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) components in AVS.

Collaboration Automation:

Work with cross-functional teams to improve AVS backend support operations.
Develop PowerShell, Python, or Terraform scripts for automation and operational efficiency.
Contribute to the development of AVS best practices and operational runbooks.

Customer Engagement Support:

Provide white glove service, handling escalations and customer interactions with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with the customer engagement team to ensure seamless support and proactive issue resolution.
Participate in a follow-the-sun support model to ensure continuous support coverage and improve handoffs between regions.

Required Qualifications:

Strong expertise in VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter), vSAN, and NSX-T.
Hands-on experience with Azure VMware Solution (AVS).
Solid understanding of VMware networking (NSX-T, VXLAN, BGP, VPN, ExpressRoute, firewalls).
Experience with incident management and troubleshooting in enterprise VMware environments.
Familiarity with VMware HCX for workload migrations.
Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or Terraform for automation.
Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis (RCA) and performance optimization.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a support or escalation engineering role for a cloud provider or VMware vendor.
Understanding of hybrid cloud networking, Azure services, and ExpressRoute integration.
Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC).
Hands-on experience with VMware Aria Suite (vRealize Operations, vROps, Log Insight).
Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Certifications:

VMware Certifications: VCP-DCV (VMware Certified Professional Data Center Virtualization), VCP-NV (VMware NSX), VCAP or VCDX (Advanced VMware Certifications).
