Job Description

Role & responsibilities :

1. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

  • Budgeting: Prepare and manage annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial performance targets.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and trends to identify areas for improvement, cost-saving opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Variance Analysis: Compare actual financial performance with budgeted figures, providing insights into variances and corrective actions.

2. Financial Reporting

  • Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Reports: Prepare and present financial statements such as profit and loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for management and stakeholders.
  • Compliance: Ensure that financial reporting complies with relevant accounting standards, such as GAAP or IFRS, and regulatory requirements.
  • Internal and External Audits: Coordinate with auditors for the completion of audits and ensure timely delivery of required documents.

3. Cash Flow Management

  • Cash Flow Forecasting: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company has sufficient liquidity for day-to-day operations.
  • Working Capital Management: Optimize the management of receivables, payables, and inventory to ensure the business operates smoothly and efficiently.
  • Treasury Management: Oversee banking relationships, investments, and short-term financing strategies.

4. Cost Management

  • Cost Control: Monitor and control operational costs, suggesting ways to improve profitability through cost-saving initiatives.
  • Expense Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of expenses to ensure that spending aligns with the companys financial objectives.

5. Strategic Financial Decision-Making

  • Business Case Support: Provide financial input for strategic decisions, such as capital investments, pricing strategies, or new market entry.
  • Scenario Planning: Assess the financial impact of various business scenarios, helping management make informed decisions.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A): Assist with financial due diligence, valuation, and integration during M&A activities.

6. Team Leadership & Development

  • Team Management: Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring they have the tools and skills necessary for effective performance.
  • Mentorship and Training: Provide guidance, training, and career development for junior finance staff and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

7. Compliance and Risk Management

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization adheres to all tax, regulatory, and legal requirements, staying updated on any changes in financial regulations.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify financial risks (e.g., currency fluctuations, credit risk) and recommend mitigating actions.

8. Stakeholder Communication

  • Management Reporting: Present financial information to senior management, offering actionable insights to drive business performance.
  • Investor Relations: If applicable, communicate with investors, analysts, and other stakeholders about the companys financial position and performance.

9. Systems and Process Improvement

  • Financial Systems: Oversee the use of financial software and systems, ensuring they are accurate, efficient, and up to date.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness.
