Job Description
As a member of the executive leadership team, the - EngineeringHead has the responsibility for technology platform planning and development. Working closely with the CTO and CPO, theincumbent will be responsible to drive the technical execution and strategy andalign it with the organizationstrategy. S/he will build and lead thetechnology team and execute and deliver on the product roadmap.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Strategy, Technology roadmap and Execution
Manageall technology platforms including the strategic planning, development, andsupport of all Web, Mobile and AI Initiatives. Own the success of the web andmobile platform for all of the Foundationinitiatives.
Definethe vision of the engineering structure and drive developer productivity
Understandhow all elements of the software lifecycle work together and develop qualityengineering approaches that fit the overall architecture.
Designtest strategies and create appropriate test harnesses, data, and tools thatincrease the speed of sprint cycles and allow for constant high-qualityresults.
Identifythe technology trends and evolving opportunities for delivering theorganizations growth. Leading thedesign, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of software solutionsconjunction with the Product Management team, lead multiple technology and newproduct development projects utilizing cutting edge technology.
Technology Strategy : Maintain a view on the fast-developing technology ecosystem(especially AI) and the Foundationmission to determine novel/disruptivetechnology solutions for scale and impact .
Platform Design : Work with CTO to develop an integrated platform architecture forthe Foundationvarious products and programs (incorporating firstand third-party components)
Roadmaps : Maintaining and aligning the organization to a definedroadmap that supports current needs with available technologies whileevolving to best-in-class solutions for evolving needs
Ensure tangible and measurableresults through clear KPIs and metrics for digital and AI initiatives .
Takingfeedback from programme teams on how users are experiencing the platform andimproving the interface basis on-going feedback.
Track,analyze and monitor technology performance metrics.
Negotiatecontracts and manage relationships with IT service providers, vendors, andconsultants (in consultation with Legal).
Ensurethe company internal technological processes and customer facing services complywith community expectations and applicable laws and regulations for privacy,security, and social responsibility.
People Management
As EngineeringHead, you will lead and directly manage a team of Software Development Managers,Technical Program Managers, Data Engineers, and a Development Operations team.
Createa passionate culture of sustained innovation in which people are producing theirbest work of their career.
Hiremotivated team and inspire them to design and incept ground-breaking technologieswhich grow the product and technology platform.
Managea hybrid team of internal FTEs and external developer resources through staffaugmentation model
Skills and Experience
Applicantsmust hold a relevant University degree in the field of Engineering /Technologyscience, or another rigorous discipline. An advanced degree in one these fieldsis a plus.
Engineering leadership in early-stage,large-scale technology initiatives
Deepunderstanding and mastery of the Product and Technology disciplines with minimum15 to 20 years of overall experience.
- Translation of technology vision and strategy into actionable plans and goals with short, mid, and longer-term impact
- Strongexperience in development of app and digital products for web and mobile.Incumbent should have an established background in developing scalabletechnical products by showcasing previous or current experience inn-tier/e-commerce/Web Services development platforms.
- Architectureand deployment of scalable web applications. Managed large volumes oftransactions, user interface, interconnectivity and user sharing on a platform.
