Head - Pre-Sales Design & Engineering (Solar EPC)

Job Description:

• To manage entire pre-sales activity right from Basic Engineering which includes but not limited to Array Layout, Optimum Sizing / Design of Module Mounting Structures Fixed Type, Seasonal & Trackers, Electrical design which covers LV, MV & HV System, Inverter Selection, IDT Block Sizing, SCADA System,
• In depth knowledge of design software like PVsyst, PVSol or similar design software
• To support SCM team by floating technical RFQs for Electrical, Civil & Mechanical requirements during the finalization of vendors & contractors w.r.t. the projects requirement
• Interactions with Vendors & Contractors & review their design & as-built drawings during pre-sales stage.
• Implementation of Innovative design ideas to achieve maximum yield & optimization of cost.
• Should support Post – Sales Engineering Team while handling all Customer Approvals during Design Reviews, interact with Customers / Consultants when & if required
• To ensure strict adherence to timelines and SOPs
• In-depth knowledge of various IEC/NEC/IS Codes and standards.
• Supporting estimation team by timely release of Bill of Quantities
• Ensure all the designs adhere to Grid Compliance & permit requirement
• Support Post – Engineering Team to troubleshoot design & construction issues in field during execution stage
• Support the Business Development team during meetings with prospective clients in matters related to Design & Engineering.

Additional responsibility:

• Exposure to design of Plant Sub-Station Design (33kV /66kV / 132 kV & above) & Transmission Lines
• Liaise with authorities to understand power evacuation feasibility / options.

Required Skills:

• Should have overall understanding of Electrical, mechanical, civil aspects for solar PV system along with in depth knowledge of Solar Design Software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope), Project Management, CAD Software, Energy Storage Systems, Technical Assessments, Sustainability Analysis, Regulatory Compliance, Data Analysis
• Should have worked in a reputed design/engineering consultancy organization or with leading EPC companies.
• Must have proven experience in leading & designing Solar PV systems, understanding new market trends, Upcoming technology, Estimation and costing, testing etc.
• Ability to deal with multiple teams and senior management
• Handling & Managing Multiple opportunities

Work Experience & Qualification:

• Engineering Graduate &/Or Masters from a reputed institute (Electrical engineer preferred)
• Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in the renewable energy sector with understanding of the Solar PV system.
• Must have handled design & engineering of Solar projects of various technologies (Rooftop/Ground Mount/Floating/Hybrid) and larger capacities.
