Job Description


ANNUAL BUSINESS PLAN & EXPANSION

  • Frame the annual retail business plan in consultation with the Management for all the branches of VBJ from the overall business plan
  • Monitor the sales performance with the business plan on a regular basis
  • Review the business needs and develop the network expansion strategies on an annual basis
  • Identify operational issues and suggest countermeasures to ensure smooth sales

RETAIL OPERATIONS & QUALITY

  • Create, modify and approve the standard operating procedures for the respective branch
  • Conduct periodic audit with the audit partners and audit schedules to ensure compliance of the SOPs with ISO 9001:2015 - Quality Management System standards.
  • Approve the audit partners and audit schedules to ensure compliance of the SOPs, lean operations and store performance in the stores
  • Ensure commercial compliance in the stores with coordination from the commercial teams
  • Focus on lean operations and improve the showroom sales
  • Design and manage lean tools that are targeted towards service excellence in the retail stores with coordination from the service teams
  • Conduct workshops for the team to understand lean concepts and implement the same in the stores
  • Identify and approve the best practices / kaizens to be deployed across locations and ensure its implementation at the store level or even at the design level
  • Analyze existing processes to identify value adding and non-value adding processes and propose process changes to improve efficiency in the function
  • Ensure commercial compliance in the branches with coordination from the commercial teams

PROJECTS

  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders on launching the new showrooms, renovations, interior design and architecture of the showrooms, etc.

BRANCH ENGAGEMENT

  • Ensure roll out of the newly designed schemes across all branches in Chennai
  • Design the annual workshop plan in the branch based on the requirements generated from the regional sales teams
  • Collect and analyze feedbacks from the Customer Relationship Executives for various branches

PRICING AND DISCOUNTS

Provide discounts for customers after evaluating the business opportunities


CHIT SCHEME MANAGEMENT

Coordinate with relevant stakeholders regarding the management of Chit scheme rollout and
deployment at the branches


CUSTOMER AND ACCOUNTS MANAGEMENT

Manage and resolve escalations of HNI customers periodically


PEOPLE & TALENT MANAGEMENT

  • Create & drive a positive work culture in all the Showrooms.
  • Focus on diversity and inclusion, consistent performance and transparency in the branches and ensure all the employees in the showroom are optimally engaged.
  • Set targets for the sales team and monitor their sales performance on a daily basis
  • Mentor and develop staff using innovative, supportive and collaborative sales strategies to improve sales.
  • Prepare for succession planning and ensure talent pipeline is created for critical positions in the branches.
  • Act as a change agent and ensure discipline in the showroom is regularly monitored by the respective managers.
  • Identify and resolve problems/conflicts within the team members to ensure smooth operations
  • Identify and share the training requirements with relevant stakeholders in conducting them for the showroom staff across all the branches as per a pre-defined training calendar and act as a SPOC for coordinating training sessions in the showroom
  • Provide inputs in developing training content for the sales team based on the needs.
  • Monitor the implementation of the Sales Training Program in the Showrooms
  • Identify, recognize and reward staff for their consistent and exceptional performance by conducting a quarterly rewards and recognition program to motivate the staff and ensure their contributions are valued.
  • Monitor performance and continuous improvement through monthly mystery audits
  • Liaise with HR on vacant positions.
  • Conduct recruitment interviews for key positions in the Showrooms

INCENTIVE MANAGEMENT

  • Design and develop annual incentive schemes for the showroom staff based on managements discretion to boost targeted sales
  • Conduct quarterly review to assess the effectiveness of the incentive schemes and propose corrective actions
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders in executing the employee incentive schemes across the branches in consultation with the HR Department
  • Calculate and approve the incentives to be credited for the staff

Preferred Candidates:

  • 20-25 years of experience in retail management or related field.
  • MBA/PGDM degree.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and improving operational efficiency in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data insights for informed decision-making.
