Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and manage the Provident Fund Desk Sales team, ensuring full coverage of the debt market.
- Develop, mentor, and train team members, building a strong second-line leadership.
- Set clear team objectives and track performance against key deliverables.
Strategic Debt Sales:
- Participate in SDL and G-Sec auctions to take strategic positions for resale to key clients, including Provident Fund, Gratuity Funds, Wealth Clients, and Corporates.
- Conduct both direct and advisory-based bidding and selling for Provident Fund clients, including handling distressed assets.
Client & Market Interaction:
- Build and maintain relationships with key institutional clients, including banks, insurance companies, and mutual funds.
- Interact with peer players such as debt brokers and wealth clients for sourcing and placing debt stock, as well as meeting customized client requirements.
Credit & Investment Coordination:
- Collaborate with the primary desk to assess new credit opportunities with both new and existing issuers.
- Coordinate the setting up of credit limits with banks and NBFCs for the company, while exploring alternate, cheaper sources of funding.
Market Intelligence & Sourcing:
- Continuously analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and client needs in the debt segment.
- Leverage market insights to source and place book stock effectively, optimizing returns and meeting specific client investment needs.
Relationship Management:
- Foster long-term relationships with institutional clients such as Provident Funds, Gratuity Funds, and Corporate Treasury departments.
- Ensure consistent interaction with the WDM (Wholesale Debt Market) team to maximize sales coverage and allocation.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of the debt market, including government securities (G-Secs) and state development loans (SDLs).
- Expertise in dealing with institutional clients such as Provident Funds, insurance companies, and corporates.
- Proven track record of leading and developing sales teams in the financial services sector.
- Solid experience in credit analysis, debt sales, and portfolio management.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to strategically position assets and handle distressed debt selling.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams (WDM, primary desk) and external stakeholders (debt brokers, wealth clients).
