Role Overview:
Virohan is seeking a seasoned professional to join our leadership team in a long-term, strategic role focused on government relations and regulatory strategy for allied healthcare training. This role is pivotal in building sustainable relationships with key regulatory stakeholders, ensuring our graduates benefit from streamlined registration processes, and shaping a favorable policy environment under the NCAHP Act, 2021. Beyond immediate advocacy, you will help chart Virohan's long-term strategic course by anticipating regulatory trends, advising on policy evolution, and aligning our business objectives with evolving government frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Stakeholder Engagement:
Central-Level Relationship Building:
Establish and nurture lasting relationships with top officials, including:
- Chairperson, National Commission for Allied Healthcare Professions (NCAHP)
- Minister, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW)
- Minister of State (MoS), MoHFW
- Secretary, MoHFW
- Joint Secretary, MoHFW
- Director/Joint Director, Allied Health Sciences Division, MoHFW
- Senior Technical Advisors/Consultants at the HRH Cell, MoHFW
State-Level Outreach:
Engage continuously with key state officials, including:
- Chairperson and Secretary, State Allied and Healthcare Council (SCAHP)
- Minister, Ministry of Health (State)
- Secretary, Ministry of Health (State)
- Secretary and Director, Directorate of Medical Education
- Act as Virohan's primary ambassador to these stakeholders, ensuring open channels of communication and long-term relationship development.
Long-Term Regulatory Strategy & Policy Advocacy:
- Monitor, analyze, and forecast regulatory changes and policy developments, particularly those related to the NCAHP Act, 2021 and allied health sectors.
- Advocate for policies that not only facilitate the seamless registration of our graduates today but also foster a robust and enabling environment for our future growth.
- Develop strategic policy briefs, long-range impact assessments, and recommendations that support Virohan's evolving business model and academic offerings.
Integration & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams (Academic, Operations, Legal, and Strategy) to align regulatory requirements with the organization's long-term goals.
- Lead internal strategy sessions and cross-functional initiatives to proactively address regulatory challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Establish frameworks and processes that ensure compliance and strategic responsiveness as regulatory landscapes evolve over time.
Thought Leadership & Continuous Improvement:
- Represent Virohan at industry conferences, public forums, and multi-stakeholder panels, positioning the organization as a thought leader in allied health policy.
- Continuously seek and implement improvements in the company's approach to government relations, ensuring that our advocacy efforts evolve in step with legislative and regulatory trends.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to building a sustainable, future-focused government relations function within the organization.
Operational Excellence & Reporting:
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of high-level meetings, briefings, and consultations with regulatory bodies.
- Prepare comprehensive briefing materials and reports for the leadership team, summarizing stakeholder feedback and providing actionable insights.
- Ensure that all regulatory engagement activities are documented and that strategies are adjusted based on feedback and changing circumstances.
Qualifications & Experience:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Healthcare Management, Law, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Professional Experience:
- 6-12 years of experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, or public policy, ideally within the healthcare or allied health sector.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with senior government officials and regulatory bodies.
Key Competencies:
- Deep understanding of India's healthcare regulatory environment, including familiarity with the NCAHP Act, 2021.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proven experience in policy analysis, long-term strategic planning, and multi-stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory developments into clear, actionable business strategies.

- The role requires travel to various state locations and participation in national-level government meetings and conferences.
