Consultant- Accounting

What you'll be doing...

• Support the India statutory audit & filings process (including trusts), including PBCs for Intercompany, Forex, Payroll, Bank payments, annual accounting and other governmental compliance.
• Work closely with the local statutory team to assist them in compliance to the local statutory regulations including board report, management deck.
• Coordination of Internal control testing and Internal audit to ensure compliance with ICFR requirements.
• Support to conduct annual exercise of physical verification of fixed assets.
• Annual return/ information preparation and submission with RBI and MCA:
  • FLA
  • Annual accounts
  • SFT response
  • LEI renewal
• Accounting support for transfer pricing/ certificate and tax audit
  • Corporate tax filing
  • Income tax audit (Form 3CD)
  • Form 3CEAB and 3CEAC
  • Form 3CEB
  • TP Study
  • Annual GST audit

• Intercompany settlements as per FEMA regulation.
• Quarterly review of fixed assets register.
• Accounting support to Tax team for departmental corporate tax audits.
• Accounting support to Tax team for departmental GST audits
• Support the month end close, financial statement analysis and other tasks related to the maintenance and/or reconciliation of accounting records for India.

  • Accounting data back on local server
• Support Associate Director, Accounting with accounting, analyzing and reporting.
• Perform month end reporting including P&L and Balance Sheet including account analysis and variance analysis.
• Perform required balance sheet reconciliation at month end. Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed timely, research and resolve outstanding items timely with business owners.
• Ensure accruals, amortization journals are processed on a timely manner.
• Coordination for settlement of trusts contribution and settlements.
• Interacts with stakeholders within and outside of accounting organization to respond in an accurate and timely fashion to inquiries related to India activities.
• Perform Ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in a financial accounting role preferably with global MNC.
• 1ERP/S4 HANA/SAP working experience.
• Expert Knowledge of Indian GAAP and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and working knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience in the preparation and review of general ledgers.
• Experience in preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts with commentary on variances.
• Comfortable in managing huge data from multiple sources and ability in converting data to information.
• Expert skill in Microsoft office (Excel, Word and power point), GSuite.
• A natural team player/leader, and an ability to work effectively with your peers in other functions.
• Work well across functions and take ownership of the tasks that have been assigned to you.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Good communication skills.
• Clarity of thought and ability to describe complex accounting concepts in a simple way.
• SAP S4 FICO certified.
• Experience gained whilst working in the IT or Telecommunications industry.
