Job Description - Quality Manager - Smart City

Location : New Delhi

Position Brief :

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager - Smart City to lead and manage the quality assurance and control functions for software systems within Smart City or Airport infrastructure projects. The role is pivotal in establishing and maintaining a robust Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring that all software solutions comply with industry standards and continuously improving software quality throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in software quality management and experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on technological innovation and integration.

The role will drive quality management processes to ensure that Smart City solutions meet the
highest standards in performance, security, and user satisfaction.

Primary Role & Responsibilities :

The primary role of the Quality Manager - Smart City will be :

1. Quality Management System (QMS) :

- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) tailored for software solutions within Smart City or Airport projects.

- Establish and enforce software quality benchmarks, protocols, and procedures across all phases of software development, integration, and testing.

2. Regulatory Compliance :

- Ensure that all software systems comply with national and international standards such as ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001, and other relevant certifications.

- Coordinate with regulatory bodies to ensure software-related permits, licenses, and audits meet or exceed required standards.

3. Software Quality Assurance & Testing :

- Oversee all aspects of software quality assurance, including functional,performance, security, and user acceptance testing.

- Implement automated testing frameworks and oversee manual testing as necessary.

- Monitor defect management, conduct root cause analysis, and coordinate

- corrective actions for any deviations from established quality standards.

- Align QA processes with software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps.

4. Project Oversight & Collaboration:

- Work closely with software development teams, IT infrastructure teams, and system architects to integrate quality management into the software development lifecycle.

- Collaborate with construction teams and technology integration teams to ensure seamless integration of software systems with physical infrastructure.

5. Continuous Improvement :

- Drive initiatives to continuously improve software development processes, focusing on reducing defects, improving performance, and enhancing overall quality.

- Leverage data from quality assessments to optimize software delivery processes and encourage innovation.

- Implement preventive measures based on risk analysis to proactively address potential quality challenges in future software releases.

- Align ISO, CMMi, and other Service Management Frameworks with business objectives to drive efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.

6. Security and Performance Audits :

- Conduct regular software security audits and performance reviews to ensure that Smart City software solutions are secure, scalable, and resilient.

- Ensure all systems meet functional, non-functional, and security requirements, including IoT integration and cybersecurity measures.

7. Team Leadership & Development :

- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of software quality professionals, testers,and auditors to deliver high-quality outcomes.

- Foster a culture of quality excellence across project teams, vendors, and stakeholders.

Key Skills & Qualifications :

Education :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.

- Certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board), or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt are preferred.

Experience :

- 8-12 years of experience in software quality management, preferably within largescale infrastructure projects, smart city initiatives, or airport infrastructure projects.

- Proven experience in managing software quality assurance for IT applications, urban infrastructure projects, or similar complex systems.

Technical Skills :

- Strong understanding of software development processes, including Agile and DevOps methodologies.

- Proficient in software quality management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, Quality Center, or equivalent for tracking, reporting, and optimizing quality processes.

- Knowledge of cloud-based solutions, cybersecurity, and software integration with IoT systems is highly desirable.

- Expertise in automated testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, or similar is a plus.

Leadership & Communication :

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, inspire, and manage crossfunctional teams.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and external partners.

- Proven ability to handle multiple project components simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality standards under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Previous experience in Smart City projects, IoT solutions, or airport infrastructure systems.

- Familiarity with CMMi standards and other service management frameworks.

- In-depth understanding of security requirements and performance audits in largescale, public infrastructure projects.

- Project management certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are a plus.
