Job Description:

We are seeking experienced professionals for the role of Underwriting Specialist in the US Mortgage industry. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in end-to-end underwriting, live underwriting, and should be well-versed with residential mortgage underwriting processes and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and underwrite residential mortgage loan applications in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Perform income calculations and evaluate the applicants financial information.
• Apply business judgment and decision-making skills to determine loan eligibility.
• Review and ensure the accuracy of underwriting documentation and ensure compliance with both internal and regulatory standards.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the underwriting process and continually stay updated on industry changes and guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in end-to-end underwriting for US residential mortgage loans.
• In-depth knowledge of underwriting guidelines, processes, and documentation requirements.
• Experience with income calculations (e.g., W2, 1099, self-employed, etc.).
• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to apply business judgment effectively.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently in a work-from-home environment.
• Graduate degree (any discipline).
