Safety Officer

Role & responsibilities:

Implement the organization's H&S strategy and Comply to all relevant regulations, laws, and standards to ensure healthy and safe place to work

Plan and implement organization safety policies, programs and training on ON and OFF site emergency preparedness

Conduct Safety trainings to employees, apprentices and contractors as per Safety Training Plan to influence safe behavior of employees

Conduct safety inspections and audits in the plant as per safety inspection plan and highlight hazards/unsafe conditions and provide recommendations for correction. Followup on corrective action implementation and update status

Benchmark best practices, Global practices / standards on health & safety, code of practices and develop new concepts to enable the health, safety (including fire safety) and environment teams to provide practical solutions

Conduct safety reviews on new layout/machinery/equipment or changes in existing layout/machinery/equipment and highlight health & safety risks and provide recommendations to mitigate the same

Establish safety communication systems through Safety alerts, articles and visual displays in the plant

To collate and analyze H&S data pertaining to the system performance in order to ensure continual improvement at all times Cordial relationship with employees on matters pertaining to safety practices and legislation

Preferred candidate profile

Post Graduate Engineering in Industrial Safety (Or) Approved Diploma in Safety from Regional Labour Institute / Central Labour Institute
