Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Manager - Sales with 8 to 10 years of expertise in environmental, social, and sustainability services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both the technical and commercial aspects of sustainability, with experience in climate change, green energy, and large infrastructure projects. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the business growth and manage high-value projects in the environmental and sustainability sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement:
    • Identify and approach potential clients, understand their unique needs, and provide customized testing solutions for their environmental and sustainability-related projects.
  • Sales & Execution:
    • Take a proactive approach in both selling services and ensuring the seamless execution of projects, with a focus on client satisfaction and project success.
  • Business Growth:
    • Expand the companys market presence through networking and identifying new business opportunities within the sustainability, environmental, and social sectors.
  • Territory & Team Management:
    • Oversee operations within an assigned region, providing strategic leadership and direction to the sales team.
  • High-Value Project Management:
    • Secure large-scale projects (₹1 crore+) from reputable private and government clients in environmental, social, and sustainability consulting.
  • Industry Standards & Compliance:
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of international sustainability and environmental guidelines, including:
      • ADB Safeguard Policy (ADB-SPS, 2009)
      • IFC Performance Standards (IFC-PS, 2012)
      • World Bank Environmental & Social Standards (WB-ESS, 2018)
      • KfW Sustainability Guidelines
  • Carbon & Sustainability Expertise (Preferred):
    • Advanced knowledge of carbon management, GHG accounting, sustainability assurance, and the GHG Protocol will be an advantage.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Marketing & Business Development:
    • Lead marketing strategies, business development initiatives, and client presentations for the Environment & Sustainability division.
  • Revenue & Sales Targets:
    • Drive the achievement of annual order bookings of INR 12.50 crore and a monthly sales target of INR 70-75 lakh for environmental services.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, manage the bidding process, and coordinate project execution plans.
  • Client Coordination:
    • Work directly with clients to design, implement, and manage environmental solutions that meet their sustainability goals.
  • Sales & Lead Generation:
    • Proactively generate sales leads through cold calls, business development meetings, proposals, and successful deal closures.
  • New Business Development:
    • Identify and onboard at least three new clients, services, or sectors in environmental consulting each year.
  • Project Management:
    • Independently manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, client satisfaction, and smooth project transitions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in environmental, sustainability, or related sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability frameworks, and industry standards.
  • Proven experience in leading teams, managing projects, and achieving business development goals.

Preferred candidate profile

  • 8-10 years of experience in business development, sales, and client engagement within the environmental, sustainability, or social sectors.
  • Proven track record of securing large-scale projects and managing high-value client relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of international sustainability standards, environmental guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Leadership and team management experience, with a focus on delivering results and achieving sales targets.
  • Expertise in new business acquisition, client onboarding, and lead generation.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team to achieve business goals.
