Collection Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Executive - Collections to join our team in the transport and logistics sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the collection process, ensuring timely recovery of outstanding payments, and maintaining healthy cash flow for the business. This role requires excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of billing cycles, and the ability to collaborate with both internal teams and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Collections Management:

• Manage and oversee the end-to-end collections process, ensuring timely follow-ups and payment recovery.
• Monitor accounts receivable and proactively contact clients to resolve overdue invoices.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to facilitate smooth collections and dispute resolution.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce the aging of receivables and improve collection cycles.

Coordination & Communication:

• Collaborate closely with the finance, sales, and operations teams to resolve billing discrepancies or client concerns.
• Provide regular updates to management on collection status, outstanding payments, and potential risk accounts.
• Prepare and share account statements, invoices, and payment reminders with clients as needed.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of collection efforts, client interactions, and payment statuses in the ERP or accounting system.
• Prepare and present collection reports, aging analysis, and cash flow forecasts to senior management.
• Assist in preparing documentation for legal proceedings in case of non-payment or escalated disputes.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: 4+ years of experience in collections, preferably within the transport or logistics industry.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with freight, logistics, and transportation billing processes is a plus.
• Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Technology: Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and collection tracking tools.
• Education: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Attention to Detail: High accuracy in managing financial records and client accounts.
• Resilience: Ability to handle difficult conversations and manage high-pressure situations.
