Position Summary:-

We are seeking a Network and Security Engineer responsible for supporting, implementing, analyzing, maintaining, and reporting on network and security infrastructure across Retail, Corporate, and Supply Chain environments. The ideal candidate will leverage strong technical knowledge, business acumen, and problem-solving skills to collaborate effectively with business units and internal IT teams. This role requires adherence to company policies and industry best practices, as well as initiative, leadership, and a teamwork-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Support: Provide comprehensive support for approximately 600 retail stores, corporate offices, Azure Cloud environments, data centers, and distribution centers.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Collaborate closely with non-technical business users, retail staff, and application owners to diagnose and resolve network-related and occasionally non-network-related issues.
• On-Call Rotation: Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.
• Network Maintenance: Provide day-to-day operational support for LAN (Cisco), WAN, and WLAN (Aruba) infrastructures. Execute scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks, ensuring network stability and performance.
• Documentation & Collaboration: Maintain and update network and security documentation through collaborative applications. Coordinate with application owners and other IT teams to troubleshoot end-to-end operational issues.
• Customer Service & Stakeholder Engagement: Deliver exceptional customer service, fostering productive relationships between project teams and clients. Proactively identify, isolate, and resolve network issues to minimize business impact.
• Continuous Improvement: Utilize JIRA for task tracking (Kanban and project-related tasks) and recommend improvements in systems, processes, and standards.
• Security & Compliance: Support the operationalization of security best practices, ensuring network environments align with organizational policies and compliance requirements.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Communication & Stakeholder Management: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical tasks and effectively collaborate with stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Automation & Scripting: Experience with Ansible, Python, or other scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell). Ability to identify automation opportunities for configuration, backups, and troubleshooting.
• Firewall & Security: Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting next-generation firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, or similar Layer 7 firewalls), and familiarity with corporate and supply chain network build-outs.
• Load Balancing: Exposure to load balancer technologies (F5 or others) is highly desirable.
• Monitoring & Analysis Tools: Competency using data-gathering and analysis tools such as Splunk and SolarWinds.
• Soft Skills: Results-driven, self-motivated, and capable of working independently. Customer-centric approach with the ability to maintain effective relationships with colleagues, vendors, and management. Proactive in suggesting new approaches and improvements rather than waiting for direction. Strong documentation skills with experience using Visio/Lucidchart and task tracking tools like Jira, SmartSheet, or OneNote.

Highly Recommended Experience

• Monitoring & Analytics: Experience with enterprise monitoring applications (Splunk, SolarWinds) and the ability to present data to management.
• Business Analyst Experience: Prior experience in a BA role is extremely beneficial for understanding business needs and translating them into technical requirements.
• Flexible Work Schedule: Availability for off-hours work related to project implementations and participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Additional Preferred Skills

• SD-WAN/SASE: Familiarity with SD-WAN/SASE solutions. Velocloud.
• Security Administration: Experience with SSL certificate management and a variety of security technologies (IPS/IDS, ACS, web filters, VPN).
• Layer 3-8 Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose network issues at various OSI layers.
• Networking Tools: Proficiency in analyzing packet captures and using diagnostic tools.
• Certifications & Writing: Relevant industry certifications (Aruba, PAN, Fortinet) and technical writing experience are pluses.
• WLAN Expertise: Experience in WLAN design, implementation, and security.
• Additional Skills: Familiarity with load balancing, compression technologies, and various network software protocols.

Prerequisites

• Automation & Scripting: Minimum 2+ years of experience with scripting/automation.
• Networking & Security Experience: At least 4+ years of hands-on experience with networking and security technologies (CISCO, Aurba, Palo Alto).
• IT Experience: 4+ years of overall IT experience.
• Education: Bachelors degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
