Network Security Engineer L2

We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Network Security Engineer L2 with expertise in Fortinet, Palo Alto and Cisco technologies to join our dynamic team. Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, managing, maintaining, troubleshooting enterprise networks (LANs, WANs, VPNs, wireless) and security firewalls infrastructure (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA). Handle L1 escalations, collaborate with teams, and maintain network integrity and security.

The candidate should have good understanding of below Products

• Cisco Switches, Routers, Wireless [Meraki/Aruba]
• Cisco ASA
• Palo Alto Firewall
• Fortinet Firewall

Role & responsibilities:

• Monitor, manage and maintain enterprise-level networks, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, wireless and Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet) networks to support scalability and business objectives.
• Assess the current network infrastructure, recommend upgrades, and lead initiatives for system improvements to meet evolving business needs.
• Performing routine checks through the monitoring tools on Client network Infrastructures and resolving technical issues.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues which includes security, routing, switching, wireless and handle escalations from L1 engineers.
• Administer firewall policies, maintain security, and ensure compliance.
• Configure and maintain network devices (VLANs, routing, VPNs, firewalls).
• Monitor network performance, security, and stability. Proactively manage and resolve network issues, minimizing downtime and performance bottlenecks.
• Implement and enforce network security best practices, including firewall configurations, VPNs [IPsec / SSL VPN], and NGFW policies and configuration.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs [IPSec / SSL VPN], and load balancers. Handle device upgrades, patch management, and system integrity.
• Monitor network performance and integrity, recommend improvements, and ensure the network meets operational performance goals.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of network topologies, configurations, and changes. Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and third-party providers to ensure seamless integration of network solutions. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Follow ITIL processes (Incident, Request Fulfilment, Knowledge, and Change Management) to ensure consistency and compliance with best practices.
• Co-ordinate with engineering / Specialist and project teams to execute complex network changes with minimal disruption to business operations.
• Perform basic firewall management and implement security policies to safeguard network infrastructure.
• Manage and resolve tickets related to Data Centre, core, and aggregation devices, ensuring timely resolution while meeting customer SLA requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

• 4-6 years of experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA).
• Bachelors or higher-level degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Exposure to NOC monitoring systems and Ticketing platforms
• Certification in Cisco CCNA is mandatory, while CCNP certification would be an added advantage along with any Security Certification like PCNSE/Fortinet NSE 4 preferred.
• Expertise in key technical domains, including networking, data centers, security, operating systems, storage, cloud, and backup technologies.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, AWS, Azure) are highly advantageous.
• Proficient in network and server monitoring, management tools, and technologies.
