Assistant Category Manager-Staples

Job Responsibilities:

This position is required to achieve the desired level of performance in the following Key Result areas:

• Category buying, performance analysis, trend analysis, sales forecasting, merchandising strategy, assortment planning, maximizing revenue and margins, onboarding brands.
• Planogram planning and merchandising of products at a national level to bring out the differentiation in order to satisfy diverse customer needs.
• Replenishment & purchase order management.
• Identify new sources of supply and assess their suitability to business.
• Negotiate and continually assess existing suppliers to optimize performance and improve terms to reduce prices
• Price comparisons with competition on key lines for online platform and offline stores
• Vendor negotiations for monthly promotions and secondary income for the category.
• Review stock levels daily / weekly and create an action plan to resolve issues
• Effective communication with suppliers on liquidation of potential expiry stock.
• Research on opportunities and development of customer group with high margin sales.
• Promotions & brand additions
