Quality Assurance Manager

Job Summary:

The Quality Control Executive ensures the highest quality standards in garment production processes, focusing on maintaining quality procedures throughout each stage of manufacturing. The role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring quality control processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement, and working closely with the production team to meet and exceed customer expectations for quality.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Quality Control Procedures:

• Implement and enforce quality control processes at various stages of garment manufacturing, including fabric inspection, cutting, stitching, finishing, and packing.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for quality checks and ensure adherence to these standards.
• Monitor compliance with quality specifications and industry standards.

2. Product Inspection & Testing:

• Conduct initial, in-process, and final inspections of garments to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Perform testing of fabrics and materials for shrinkage, color fastness, tensile strength, and other quality parameters.
• Analyze production samples for measurements, appearance, and workmanship quality to ensure compliance with client requirements.

3. Defect Identification & Management:

• Identify defects in fabrics, trims, and finished products, and categorize them based on severity.
• Maintain detailed records of defects and quality issues, and prepare daily quality reports.
• Work with the production team to address and rectify any deviations from quality standards, ensuring timely correction of identified issues.

4. Continuous Improvement:

• Monitor and analyze quality control metrics and KPIs, such as defect rates and customer feedback, to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements and quality enhancement to the management.
• Conduct regular training sessions for production and quality teams on best practices and new quality standards.

5. Collaboration with Production Team:

• Work closely with the production and design teams to ensure a seamless integration of quality standards into the manufacturing process.
• Participate in pre-production meetings to discuss potential quality challenges and solutions.
• Communicate quality expectations and standards to vendors and suppliers.

6. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of quality inspections, test results, and corrective actions.
• Prepare quality reports and share insights with management to facilitate decision-making.
• Assist in creating and maintaining a quality manual that outlines procedures and specifications for the manufacturing process.

7. Customer Feedback & Quality Assurance:

• Gather customer feedback regarding product quality and work to resolve any quality-related complaints.
• Ensure that all garments meet the companys quality standards before delivery to clients, aiming for zero customer complaints.

8. Compliance & Certifications:

• Ensure adherence to quality standards such as ISO 9001, OEKO-TEX, or other relevant certifications.
• Stay updated with industry regulations and standards, ensuring that the company meets compliance requirements.
• Assist in preparing for and conducting audits from clients, certification bodies, and internal audits.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in quality control within the garment manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using quality control tools and equipment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of industry standards and certifications related to garment quality.
