Position Overview: The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all leather products, including bags and wallets, meet the company's quality standards. This role involves inspecting raw materials, setting quality benchmarks for each style or article, developing visual quality checklists, documenting defects, and training quality control personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

Raw Material Inspection:

• Conduct thorough inspections of incoming leather materials to identify defects such as scars, blemishes, or inconsistencies in texture and color.
• Ensure that all raw materials meet predefined quality standards before production.

Setting Quality Standards:

• Establish and document quality standards for each style or article, detailing specifications and acceptable tolerances.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to align on quality expectations.

Quality Visual Checklists:

• Develop comprehensive visual checklists for each style to guide quality inspections during production.
• Continuously update checklists to include new defects or areas of concern identified during production runs.

Defect Documentation:

• Maintain detailed records of defects encountered during production, including descriptions, frequencies, and corrective actions taken.
• Analyze defect data to identify patterns and implement preventive measures.

Training Quality Control Personnel:

• Provide training sessions for inline Quality Control (QC), Final QC, and Raw Material QC teams on quality standards, inspection techniques, and defect identification.
• Develop training materials and conduct regular assessments to ensure team proficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience:
• Proven experience in quality assurance within the leather goods industry and from shoe industry with a focus on products like bags and wallets.
• Strong background in identifying leather defects and understanding leather properties.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in developing quality standards and visual inspection tools.
• Familiarity with quality control methodologies and tools.
• Analytical Skills:
• Ability to analyze defect data to identify trends and root causes.
• Strong problem-solving skills to implement effective corrective actions.
• Communication Skills:
• Effective communicator capable of conveying quality standards and procedures to team members.
• Experience in conducting training sessions and developing educational materials.
• Attention to Detail:
• Keen eye for detail to identify subtle defects and ensure adherence to quality standards.

Performance Metrics:
