Job Description

Job Title: Associate Director of Marketing & Sales for Corporate Office

Department: Sales and Marketing

Location: Brand Office, Ahmedabad

Reports to: Director of Sales / Senior Director of Business Development


Job Summary:

The Associate Director of Sales is responsible for assisting the Director of Sales in driving revenue growth for the retreat by developing and implementing sales strategies, managing key accounts, and identifying new market opportunities. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the sales team, maintaining strong relationships with clients, and ensuring that sales goals are met. The Associate Director of Sales also plays a key role in developing the retreats market presence and maximizing its revenue potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing to create and implement effective sales & Marketing strategies that align with the retreats revenue goals.
  • Brand identity: Maintain the hotel's brand identity and ensure consistency across all marketing materials
  • Digital marketing: Drive digital marketing initiatives like SEO, SEM, social media, and email marketing
  • Analytics and reporting: Track and measure marketing campaign performance, and provide reports to leadership
  • Product launches: Coordinate and execute product launches, and develop go-to-market strategies
  • Public relations: Manage relationships with media outlets and influencers, and oversee public relations activities
  • Event management: Plan and execute marketing events, trade shows, and sponsorships
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new trends, business opportunities, and competitive threats. Provide insights to develop targeted sales plans.
  • Assist in setting and achieving sales targets, ensuring alignment with the retreats financial objectives.
  • Contribute to accurate forecasting of room revenue, F&B sales, and other revenue streams based on market conditions and business trends.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key corporate clients, travel agents, tour operators, and event planners to generate repeat business and long-term contracts.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including group bookings, corporate events, weddings, and leisure travel.
  • Negotiate contracts, rates, and agreements with potential and existing clients to maximize revenue while maintaining the retreats competitive edge.
  • Ensure that the sales team maintains an up-to-date CRM system, tracking client interactions, preferences, and opportunities for follow-up.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the sales team, providing guidance and support to ensure sales targets are met.
  • Mentor and train sales team members on effective sales techniques, market knowledge, and customer relationship management.
  • Assist the Director of Sales in conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback to the sales team to foster continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports, including performance metrics, market analysis, and revenue projections, to the Director of Sales and senior management.
  • Ensure that the sales pipeline is actively managed and monitored, tracking progress and closing deals to meet targets.
  • Assist in managing the sales budget, including travel, entertainment, and promotional expenses, ensuring that all expenditures contribute to achieving revenue goals.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, campaigns, and initiatives that support sales efforts and enhance brand visibility.
  • Collaborate with event planning teams to ensure successful execution of conferences, weddings, and corporate events that contribute to the retreats revenue.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Rooms, F&B, Housekeeping) to ensure seamless delivery of services and a high-quality guest experience, in line with client expectations.
  • Work with the revenue management team to optimize room rates and ensure that pricing strategies are aligned with market conditions.
  • Implement strategies to maximize yield, particularly during peak seasons, holidays, and special events.
  • Ensure that all client interactions and experiences are positive, contributing to customer loyalty and repeat business.
  • Oversee post-sale activities such as guest satisfaction surveys, service recovery, and feedback collection to improve client relationships and future sales efforts.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Sales Acumen: Strong understanding of sales principles, hospitality sales techniques, and revenue management.
  • Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable contracts and rates with clients while maximizing retreat revenue.
  • Market Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of market trends, competition, and customer preferences in the hospitality industry.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership and team management abilities to inspire, motivate, and develop the sales team.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to interact with clients, team members, and senior management effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify challenges and propose effective solutions to enhance sales performance and client satisfaction.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in analyzing sales data, market research, and financial metrics to make informed decisions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or Hospitality Management. A masters degree is a plus.
  • Experience in Hospitality Industry is must.
  • Hospitality Knowledge: Strong understanding of the retreat or hotel industry, including group sales, event sales, and leisure/corporate travel.
  • Technology: Proficiency in sales CRM systems, revenue management software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as required by the retreats business needs.
  • Travel: Ability to travel for client meetings, conferences, and trade shows when necessary.
