Power System Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Power Systems Engineer to join our team in the oil and gas EPC sector. The ideal candidate will have 10 to 12 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on using EPlan software for power system analysis and design. This role involves performing detailed electrical studies, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Power Systems Design: Designing and analyzing power systems to ensure stability and reliability. Conducting research and implementing new methodologies to enhance power generation and distribution processes.
• Simulating system performance under different operating conditions to predict the occurrence of potential problems. Ensuring that all electrical systems are in compliance with current regulations and safety standards.

Assessing the load requirements of different systems and determining the power supply capacities for existing and future demands. Installing and maintaining high-voltage equipment including transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers. Conducting system tests and inspections to ensure operational effectiveness and safety.

• Technical Documentation: Prepare and review technical reports, design documents, and specifications related to electrical systems and studies.
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs and analyses comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall project.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for electrical systems to minimize disruptions.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in software and electrical engineering practices to continuously improve project outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Education: Masters degree in Power Systems Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: 10 to 12 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a significant focus on the oil and gas EPC sector.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ePlan software, strong knowledge of electrical power systems, and experience with industry standards such as IEEE, IEC, and NEC.
• Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
