The Special Educator - RCI Certified plays a crucial role in providing individualized support and education to students with special needs in Wadala, Mumbai. This position is instrumental in creating and implementing specialized education plans to cater to the diverse needs of students, ensuring their academic and social success.
Key Responsibilities
Assessing students individual needs and developing personalized education plans
Delivering specialized instruction based on students learning styles and abilities
Implementing behavior management techniques to create a positive learning environment
Collaborating with parents, teachers, and support staff to address students unique requirements
Adapting curriculum materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students
Utilizing assistive technology and specialized teaching methods for enhanced learning experiences
Monitoring students progress and making necessary adjustments to their educational plans
Providing support and training to classroom teachers and staff on special education strategies
Documenting and maintaining accurate records of students educational and behavioral progress
Participating in individualized education plan (IEP) meetings and contributing to the development of goals and objectives
Collaborating with external agencies, therapists, and healthcare professionals to support students overall development
Advocating for the needs and rights of students with special needs within the school and community
Remaining updated with current research and best practices in the field of special education
Supervising and mentoring teacher aides and support staff in the special education program
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field
RCI certification in special education
Demonstrated experience in creating and implementing individualized education plans
Proficiency in utilizing various special education techniques and strategies
Strong understanding of different learning disabilities and developmental disorders
Excellent knowledge of behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies
Effective communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
Ability to adapt instructional materials and methods to meet the diverse needs of students
Experience in utilizing assistive technology and adaptive equipment in the classroom
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to special education
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
Ability to work with diverse student populations and create inclusive learning environments

Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred
