BU / FUNCTION DESCRIPTION:
ROLE OBJECTIVE:
- The Sourcing analyst understands the business requirements, has broad knowledge of the sourcing, identifies vendors, builds strategic partnership.
- Use best practices & knowledge to improve business processes.
- Effective utilization of resources to meet the internal & external customer needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and distributes RFPs/RFQs and obtains bids or information from vendors and evaluates the proposals/quotes.
- Identifies, evaluates, approves and qualifies vendors whose reliability and goods meet the requirements, standards and specifications set by TE, obtains quotes, examines bids and makes awards.
- Conducts competitive bidding, negotiation, contracting processing, identifies technical specifications, understand parts & commodities, brings in continuous improvements, collaborates across TE BUs and /or regions for optimal leverage, aligns strategy and execution with cross functional teams such as engineering, manufacturing, product management, quality and other functions.
- Develops and executes multi-year sourcing strategy for the commodities, identifies qualified / potential suppliers by evaluating product offerings / proposals.
- Negotiates contracts with shortlisted / selected suppliers to develop mutually acceptable contractual agreements, ensuring that all procurement activities comply with TE procurement policies and external regulations.
- Needs to track supplier performance and compliance with expectations or as per agreed terms.
- Analyse and evaluate external price trends and commodity costs.
- To reduce cost by alternative sourcing, ensuring long term agreements, securing discounts for volume purchases, recommends cost-saving proposals, make v/s buy decision.
- In-depth knowledge of electromechanical components and assemblies, test benches.
- Exhibit people management skills to develop and motivate direct reporting team and be a mentor to the team.
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:
- BE/B.Tech (Electronic, Mechanical or any).
- Professional experience on Strategic sourcing.
- Excellent communication.
CRITICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years' experience in field of strategic sourcing & minimum 5 years in Electro mechanical components Sourcing.
- Technical knowledge of commodities such as connectors, back shells, wires & cables, machined and fabricated components, PCBA .
- Molding and Machining etc.
- Strong knowledge on SAP MM.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Power point.
COMPETENCIES:
- Strong financial acumen - to analyze and taken pricing decisions.
- Negotiation skills, technical know-how of harness commodities.
- Able to demonstrate initiative and ability to make decision.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to visualize and articulate the financial impact.
- Strong Data Analytics skills - Excel, SAP.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to determine priorities and take decisions.
- Building people capability: Training and mentoring with the necessary skill set.
