System Engineer ( Linux and Voice Ops)

Role: Linux and Voice Operations Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Linux and Voice Operations Engineer to oversee and optimize our Linux-based systems and voice communication platforms. The role requires expertise in Linux server management, Voice systems, and troubleshooting communication networks, ensuring seamless operations and high availability.

Whatll be Responsible for?

1.

Linux Operations:

Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS).

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources.

Perform regular system backups, patch management, and updates.

Automate routine tasks using shell scripting.

2. Voice Operations:

Configure and manage Voice systems

Monitor call quality, resolve voice network issues, and optimize VoIP performance.

Collaborate with vendors for hardware/software upgrades and maintenance.

Document Voice configurations and provide end-user support for telephony services.

3. Incident and Problem Management:

Identify, diagnose, and resolve incidents related to Linux servers and voice systems.

Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.

Maintain a detailed log of incidents, resolutions, and system changes.

4. Collaboration and Documentation:

Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate voice and Linux services.

Maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and procedures.

Train and assist team members and end-users as needed.

5. Performance and Optimization:

Monitor and improve system uptime and voice quality metrics

Analyze logs and implement proactive measures to avoid downtime.

What you’d have?

Linux Expertise:

o

Strong knowledge of Linux system administration (file systems, networking, and performance tuning).

• Voice/Telephony Expertise:

o

Experience managing Voice systems (e.g., SIP, RTP).

o

Familiarity with call flow, codecs, and troubleshooting voice quality issues.

• Networking:

o

Basic understanding of networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs).

o

Knowledge of firewalls and QoS for voice traffic.

• Scripting:

o

Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl.

• Soft Skills:

o

Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

o

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
