Position: Area Sales Manager - Modern Trade
MBA (2018 to 21) batch with Malayalam language and would have handled Modern Trade Channel (Lulu experience is preferable)
Qualification & Experience
MBA with 3-5 years of work experience out of which minimum 2 years as ASM focusing on Modern Trade segment only for FMCG products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Management: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve sales targets in the modern trade segment.
- Manage sales operations in assigned territory, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Monitor sales performance, analyze sales data, and prepare regular sales reports.
- Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and major retail chains.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of trade with key accounts.
- Ensure timely collection of payments from accounts.
- Promotion and Merchandising: Plan and execute promotional activities and campaigns in coordination with the marketing team.
- Ensure proper placement and visibility of products in stores.
- Oversee merchandising activities to enhance product visibility and sales.
- Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and train the sales team to achieve their targets and improve performance.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review performance and provide feedback.
- Develop and implement training programs for team development.
- Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
- Provide insights and recommendations to the management for business growth.
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities for expansion.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on sales activities, market conditions, and competitor analysis.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities and transactions.
Qualifications:
- MBA in Marketing from a Tier 1 / 2 Institute only
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, with a focus on modern trade channels.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Strong understanding of the FMCG/Consumer Goods industry.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze sales data and market trends.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel within the assigned area.
