Research Associate

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sensory Quality Analyst to lead and execute sensory evaluation and quality control processes for our finished goods (FG), semi-finished goods (SFG), and additives. The ideal candidate will ensure that products meet defined quality standards through rigorous sensory analysis while supporting other quality control functions as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sensory Analysis:
  
• Conduct physical and sensory evaluations of all products to ensure they meet predefined quality requirements.
• Develop and maintain sensory evaluation protocols and standards.
• Perform sensory tests, including aroma, taste, texture, and visual assessments, for FG, SFG, and additives.
• Provide detailed sensory analysis reports and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues.
• Sample Coordination and Testing:
  
• Coordinate with Packaging & Filling (P&F) and Production teams to collect samples for sensory and analytical testing.
• Ensure timely analysis and reporting of sensory results.
• Customer Complaint Analysis:
  
• Investigate customer complaints related to sensory attributes of FG.
• Perform sensory evaluations of complaint samples and provide actionable feedback.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  
• Record sensory results accurately and ensure proper documentation in quality records.
• Verify and validate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for sensory attributes.
• Maintain organized storage of product samples with appropriate labeling for traceability.
• Quality System Support:
  
• Assist in implementing and maintaining quality systems to enhance sensory evaluation processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to sensory quality and product development.
• Instrument and Method Management:
  
• Support the calibration and maintenance of instruments used in sensory and analytical testing.
• Validate sensory evaluation methods and ensure they comply with industry standards.
• Customer Return and Recurring Analysis:
  
• Analyze and report on customer return materials, focusing on sensory characteristics.
• Conduct recurring sensory analysis to monitor and improve product quality.
• Developmental Work and Training:
  
• Collaborate with R&D teams to develop new sensory evaluation methods and enhance product quality.
• Train team members on sensory evaluation techniques and quality requirements.
• Compliance and Lab Practices:
  
• Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), safety, and environmental standards.
• Support the sustenance of 5S principles in the lab.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Sensory Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in sensory analysis or quality control in the food, chemical, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of sensory evaluation techniques and standards.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in quality systems, GLP, and sensory data recording.
