Scientist-Protein extraction

We are seeking a visionary and experienced leader to head the New Product Development (NPD) Protein Department. The role involves driving innovation in protein-based product development, managing the entire development lifecycle, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and deliver commercially successful and market-driven protein products. This position requires strategic thinking, technical expertise, and exceptional leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Define and implement the strategic direction for the NPD Protein Department.

Drive innovation in protein-based product development to align with market trends and business goals.

Product Development:

Oversee the development of new protein products, formulations, and processes.

Ensure all products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Project Management:

Manage the end-to-end development process of new protein products, from the planning phase through implementation and production.

Lead scale-up and pilot plant trials to ensure successful commercialization.

Technical Expertise:

Provide technical leadership in protein extraction, isolation, purification, and characterization processes.

Drive improvements and optimizations in existing protein-based processes.

Collaboration:

Work closely with Sales, Business Development, and customers to identify market opportunities and deliver innovative solutions.

Liaise with engineering, research, technical, and production teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Continuous Improvement:

Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the department.

Stay ahead of market trends and advancements in protein science and technology.

Data Management and Analysis:

Oversee the recording and analysis of experimental data to optimize processes and product outcomes.

Present findings and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

Team Leadership and Development:

Lead and mentor a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to achieve departmental goals.

Foster a high-performing and collaborative team environment.

Documentation and Reporting:

Oversee the preparation and review of technical papers, reports, and product specifications.

Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory standards and internal policies.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Advanced degree in Protein Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in protein-based product development and process optimization.
• Proven track record of leadership in a similar head-level role.
• Deep understanding of protein science, including extraction, isolation, and characterization techniques.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities to inspire and manage cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with global regulatory standards and compliance requirements.

Work Environment: This leadership role involves working in both laboratory and production environments, requiring adherence to safety and quality protocols. Travel may be required to meet with stakeholders, customers, and attend industry events.
