About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our dynamic Geo team in Bangalore. In this role, you will execute geospatial data processing projects and advance digital products for natural hazard assessment. Your contributions will enable Swiss Re to make confident underwriting decisions and maintain best-in-class Natural Catastrophe models. You will have the following responsibilities:
About the Team:
This role is embedded in the Catastrophe Geo Modelling team, which is in Zurich and Bangalore. The team advances the proprietary catastrophe modeling framework of Swiss Re and ensures that geospatial information is accurately considered in those models. Furthermore, the team develops user applications for risk assessment and insurance costing.
The overarching Catastrophe Perils department is responsible for Swiss Re s global natural catastrophe risk assessment. The department consists of 50 dedicated engineers and scientists in multi-faceted fields. We are mandated to advance probabilistic and proprietary modelling technology for earthquakes, windstorm and flood hazards, the largest and most refined company owned model framework in the re/insurance industry.
The department has a clear business mandate to grow this competitive edge in close collaboration with Swiss Re s underwriters and clients.
About You :
You are passionate about applying geospatial knowledge to natural-catastrophes and risk assessment. You have mid-level experience in the geospatial industry. You are up-to-date with the latest geo trends and possess excellent communication skills.
