Job Description

Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Commercial Manager to oversee and manage all commercial activities within our automotive cables division. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience, with a solid background in production-sales alignment, inventory management, rate contracts, supplier and vendor negotiations, and coordinating cross-functional teams. The Senior Commercial Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation between manufacturing, sales, and supply chain functions, contributing directly to the companys profitability and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production & Sales Coordination:
  • Align with manufacturing and sales teams to develop a comprehensive production plan based on sales forecasts.
  • Ensure that production schedules meet customer demand and that stock levels are adequately maintained to prevent any production delays or shortages.
  • Regularly monitor and manage inventory to optimize stock levels across the value chain.
  • Oversee the timely dispatch of finished goods to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
  • Supplier & Vendor Management:
  • Maintain and manage rate contracts with suppliers, vendors, and logistics providers to ensure cost efficiency and smooth operations.
  • Negotiate favourable terms and conditions with suppliers and service providers, ensuring optimal pricing and service levels.
  • Regularly review and manage vendor performance and collaborate on improvements in service delivery.
  • OEM and Tier I/Tier II Coordination:
  • Develop and send commercial offers, letters, and proposals to OEMs, Tier I, and Tier II manufacturers, based on inputs from the sales team.
  • Facilitate plant visits and audits for potential and existing customers, coordinating with internal teams to ensure a smooth experience.
  • Oversee the implementation of action items from audits, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and expectations.
  • Financial & Budgeting:
  • Prepare annual budgets in collaboration with relevant teams, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
  • Monitor and track the EBIDTA, ensuring profitability and taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Report on financial and operational performance to the President, Automotive, ensuring transparency and timely updates.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Act as the key liaison between the production, sales, finance, and logistics teams, ensuring alignment and effective communication between all functions.
  • Ensure that all commercial and operational activities are executed in a timely and efficient manner, supporting the companys growth and market position.
  • Leadership & Reporting:
  • Lead a team of commercial and operational professionals, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high performance.
  • Regularly report to the President, Automotive on key performance indicators, challenges, and opportunities in the commercial domain.
  • Pricing & preparing offers to customer and coordinating with them on all queries

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or any relevant field.
  • MBA (preferably in Operations, Supply Chain Management, or Finance) is highly desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in commercial roles within manufacturing and sales industry ideally in the automotive sectors.
  • Strong understanding of production-sales alignment, inventory management, and financial planning.
  • Proven experience in supplier and vendor negotiations and managing rate contracts.
  • Experience in preparing and managing budgets and financial forecasting.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Solid project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple functions and priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ERP systems.
