Snowflake Database Administrator

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for providing production database operations, ensuring performance and scalability, high availability and disaster recovery, compliance, and security of the Snowflake environment. This role also provides technical leadership within the DBA team.

Additional responsibilities include developing best practices and repeatable procedures for deploying databases, day-to-day operational activities including break/fix, capacity management, backup and restore, performance monitoring and tuning. The individual filling this role makes recommendations for physical database design, architecture, and testing of database technologies. Identifies data sources, constructs decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents the process. Writes code for database access, modifications, and constructions including stored procedures. Maintains version control for promoting changes into production environments. Has a good understanding of storage systems and various application integration architectures.

Work Timings – 2 PM to 11 PM IST

1. Technical knowledge in database development methodologies, design and implementation and basic database administration skills/experience (procedures for change control, test and production release).
2. 6+ years Database Server Administration experience
3. Good experience in Azure cloud
4. Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
5. Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
6. Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery options for database technologies.
7. Knowledge of best practices in the areas of application design, performance, security, scalability and maintainability
8. Manages databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission critical production systems.
9. Applies data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
10. Independently analyzes, solves, and corrects issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
11. Refines and automates regular processes, tracks issues, and documents changes.
12. Assists developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
