Job Overview


The Sales Manager in Railway Transportation is responsible for leading the sales strategy and execution for rail freight business within India and SAARC region. This role involves managing a Sales team, developing relationships with key clients, and ensuring the company meets its revenue goals.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Strategy Development: Create and implement circle & part wise strategies to capture the market for rail transportation sector.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including government bodies, large corporations, SMEs & retail customers.
  • Market Analysis: Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify business opportunities and risks. Developed rail with product mapping.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead Negotiations for large contracts and partnerships, ensuring favourable terms for the company.
  • Revenue Targets: Achieve or exceed revenue targets by developing and executing effective Sales plan.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as operations, marketing and finance to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on sales performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.
  • Railway Wagon Business: BCN, BLC, VPU, NMG, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field. MBA preferred.

Key Skills:


  • Strong understanding of the railway industry, including regulatory frameworks, market dynamics, and key players.
  • Profound rail operational & commercial knowledge.
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving.
  • Extensive experience in sales, and focus on transportation or logistics.
  • Analytical acumen and experience in working with margin strategy.
  • Proven track record in identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Strong networking and relationship management skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship building abilities.
