Role & responsibilities
Education (Company Secretarial + LLB),
1. Legal Compliance Ensure the organization complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards. Conduct regular legal audits and risk assessments. Implement and update compliance policies and procedures.
2. Contract Management Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents. Maintain a repository of contracts and ensure timely renewals. Minimize contractual risks by identifying and addressing legal issues.
3. Litigation Management Handle litigation cases, including engaging and coordinating with external legal counsel. Represent the company in legal proceedings and disputes. Monitor and report on the progress of legal cases.
4. Risk Management Identify potential legal risks and propose mitigation strategies. Provide guidance on legal risk implications of business strategies and decisions. Develop training programs to educate employees on legal risks and compliance.
5. Advisory and Support Offer legal advice and support to internal departments and senior management. Interpret legal language and implications for business operations. Ensure alignment between legal strategies and organizational goals.
6. Policy Development Develop and enforce internal policies related to legal and regulatory requirements. Ensure these policies align with current legal standards.
7. Corporate Governance Ensure adherence to governance frameworks and corporate bylaws. Manage board resolutions, shareholder agreements, and other governance documents.
8. Stakeholder Management Build relationships with regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies, and external counsel. Act as the legal liaison during audits, investigations, or inspections.
9. Knowledge Management Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that impact the organization. Organize legal knowledge-sharing sessions for the team.
10. Performance Metrics Timely resolution of legal cases and issues. Reduction in legal costs or liabilities. Adherence to compliance deadlines and regulatory requirements.
