Technical Project Manager

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Planning and Execution:
• Lead the planning and implementation of technical projects, ensuring clear project objectives, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Manage project risks, anticipate potential issues, and provide solutions to mitigate them.
• Team Management and Collaboration:
• Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., engineers, developers, and designers) and external partners to ensure smooth project execution.
• Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and manage team performance to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Facilitate communication across departments to ensure alignment on objectives, priorities, and timelines.
• Client and Stakeholder Management:
• Regularly update clients and stakeholders on project progress, status, and any potential risks.
• Ensure that the final product meets client expectations and requirements.
• Act as the main point of contact between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, translating technical concepts into understandable terms.
• Quality Assurance and Risk Management:
• Oversee the quality assurance process, ensuring that all deliverables meet company standards and client expectations.
• Proactively manage risks and issues, adjusting the project plan as necessary to accommodate changing requirements or unexpected challenges.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Create and maintain clear project documentation, including timelines, milestones, resource allocations, and budgets.
• Prepare regular status reports for stakeholders, outlining project progress, risks, and challenges.
• Ensure proper documentation and communication are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Review and assess completed projects to identify areas for improvement.
• Implement lessons learned and recommend best practices for future projects.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is a plus.
• Experience:
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years focused on technical or IT projects.
• Proven experience managing projects with cross-functional teams in an Agile or Scrum environment.
• Experience in software development, engineering, or other technical domains.

Skills:

• Strong technical understanding of development processes, architecture, and technologies (e.g., web development, cloud technologies, databases, etc.).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into actionable plans and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana, Microsoft Project, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Solid understanding of Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies.
