As part of our ambitious expansion plans, we are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven Director of Sales to lead and scale our sales operations in India.
Position Overview: As the Director of Sales at GharPe, you will be responsible for leading and executing the sales strategy to drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer acquisition across key segments. With your extensive experience of over 15 years, you will oversee the sales teams, develop robust sales strategies, and create a culture of performance and accountability.
This is a senior leadership role that demands a strong background in managing large sales teams, setting ambitious sales targets, and collaborating with senior management to align sales objectives with the company's overall vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with GharPe's business goals and market opportunities.
- Lead the sales team in achieving ambitious revenue, growth, and market penetration targets.
- Build and execute short-term and long-term sales plans to drive sustainable growth.
Team Management & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team to meet or exceed sales objectives.
- Establish clear sales performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching for team development.
- Develop and implement training programs to improve the skills and effectiveness of the sales team.
Market Expansion & Business Development:
- Identify new market opportunities and lead expansion efforts in both existing and untapped regions.
- Formulate strategies to expand GharPe's presence and customer base in Hyderabad and beyond.
- Lead business development efforts, including partnership and channel development, to expand sales networks and drive new business.
Sales Process Optimization:
- Continuously evaluate and improve the sales process, tools, and technologies to increase sales effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Implement CRM systems and ensure data-driven decision-making to enhance sales pipeline visibility, tracking, and forecasting.
- Establish and optimize sales funnels, ensuring leads are efficiently converted into high-value customers.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, providing high-level support and maintaining long-term customer satisfaction.
- Develop and implement customer retention strategies to drive repeat business and increase lifetime value.
Sales Forecasting & Reporting:
- Develop accurate sales forecasts and reporting structures for senior leadership, offering visibility into sales performance, opportunities, and challenges.
- Analyze sales data and trends, providing insights and actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Present regular performance reports to the executive team, highlighting key metrics, progress toward goals, and market trends.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing, product, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall business goals.
- Collaborate on the development of marketing and promotional campaigns that support sales efforts.
- Provide feedback from customers and the market to inform product development and service offerings.
Budget & P&L Management:
- Develop and manage the sales budget to ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Ensure sales targets are met within budget while maximizing return on investment.
Key Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field. MBA or equivalent is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in sales leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a senior management position in a [insert industry, e.g., home services, real estate, B2B sales, etc.].
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in driving sales growth, managing high-performance teams, and delivering on revenue targets in a competitive market.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills with a hands-on approach to sales management.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically, analyze complex data, and execute innovative sales strategies.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Negotiation Skills: High-level negotiation and closing skills with a customer-centric approach.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with sales automation tools is a plus.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the [specific industry, e.g., home services, real estate, or product-related industry], including key players, trends, and competitive landscape.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in market expansion and entering new verticals.
- Strong understanding of data analytics and how to leverage insights to drive business results.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and adapt to changes quickly.
