URGENT REQUIREMENT - Book Formatter (English Books) - @Bengaluru (for US Publishing House)

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Book Formatter to join our publishing team. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, an in-depth understanding of book layout design, and extensive experience formatting full-length books for print and digital editions. You will collaborate closely with authors, editors, and the publishing team to deliver high-quality, professionally formatted manuscripts ready for distribution across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Format and layout manuscripts for print (paperback/hardcover) and digital (eBooks)
• Ensure compliance with various publishing standards (e.g., IngramSpark, KDP, EPUB).
• Collaborate with authors and editors to maintain consistency in style, fonts, and formatting elements.
• Optimize content for readability and visual appeal across devices and platforms.
• Resolve formatting issues, such as line breaks, orphan/widow lines, and page alignment.
• Convert and validate files in formats like PDF, EPUB, MOBI, etc.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in book design and formatting tools.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in formatting books for print and digital platforms (portfolio required).
• Proficiency in tools like Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, and eBook formatting software.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards for print and digital publications.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Should bring their own LAPTOP to work
• Understanding of typography, page composition, and design principles.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards for digital publications is a plus.

Time Management

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Efficient workflow and strong organizational skills.

This is a full time position. Moonlighting, part-time working or freelancing is strictly not allowed. Work from home (WFH) is NOT available for this role.
