Position overview:
As India Director, you will be instrumental in driving the transformation. You will lead the charge in adopting innovative technologies, guiding research efforts, and building partnerships that will enable Myna Mahila to not just reach more women, but to change their lives through personalized, tech-enabled solutions. Key responsibilities:
Vision and culture leadership
- Champion Myna Mahila Foundation as a leader in health and economic empowerment, creating new pathways for impact and growth.
- Inspire and engage MMF staff, board members, donors, government partners, and beneficiaries to work toward a shared vision.
Strategic leadership and innovation
- Execute the organization's bold, long-term vision by setting annual priorities, goals, and guardrails in alignment with the overall mission.
- Foster a culture of innovation and learning, encouraging experimentation to create scalable, high-impact solutions.
- Monitor trends, needs, and gaps in women's health and economic empowerment, identifying opportunities to drive systemic change.
Organizational strategy and operational excellence
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team to develop and execute annual and multi-year strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Lead organizational planning and budgeting, ensuring financial sustainability while maximizing impact.
- Build and retain a high-performing leadership team that aligns with MMF's goals and culture.
Board and stakeholder engagement
- Cultivate a strong, effective, and engaged Board of Directors to provide strategic guidance and support.
- Regularly articulate and communicate MMF's strategy to stakeholders, fostering alignment and buy-in.
- Actively participate in solving challenges and driving the organization to new heights.
Fundraising and financial stewardship
- Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors, ensuring long-term partnerships.
- Develop and implement strategies to diversify and grow the organization's funding base.
- Work closely with the CFO to manage the organization's finances, ensuring transparency, accountability, and optimal resource allocation.
Core qualifications include:
- At least 7 years of experience as a senior manager or executive in a related industry (e.g. nonprofit, philanthropy, strategy consulting, venture capital, growing a startup).
- Proven ability to implement visionary strategies with measurable impact.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills, including experience working with funders, government stakeholders, and grassroots communities.
- Enthusiasm for and experience with tech-driven approaches to drive social change.
- Strong financial management and resource mobilization experience.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and adapt in response to changing environments.
- India-based (work base - Mumbai) individuals who are highly motivated to do grind work if required.
- Fluency in Hindi, in addition to English.
