Job Description:

The Job:

- As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for shaping the technical vision and driving the development of a scalable, high-performing SaaS product. You will lead multiple engineering teams, collaborate closely with stakeholders, and ensure our applications are robust, reliable, and ready to handle the challenges of a growing global user base.

Key Responsibilities:

- Define and drive the technical strategy for scalable application development, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

- Build, mentor, and manage high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

- Oversee the design and evolution of scalable and secure application architectures, focusing on microservices and cloud-native technologies.

- Lead initiatives to ensure applications can handle increasing user demands, including performance tuning, database optimization, and cloud infrastructure scaling.

- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to prioritize engineering efforts and deliver high-impact solutions.

- Establish and refine engineering processes, including CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and agile development practices, to ensure efficiency and quality.

- Manage engineering budgets and resources effectively to achieve project goals and timelines.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends, applying them to improve our products and processes.

Ideal Candidate:

- You possess a Bachelor's in Engineering from a renowned institution, and have at least 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.

- You have proven experience in scaling SaaS applications.

- A deep understanding of scalable application architectures, cloud-native technologies, and microservices, is required.

- Strong expertise in AWS including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless frameworks.

- You have hands-on experience with the MERN stack and have worked on building and/or scaling applications using Node.js.

- Proven experience in optimizing applications for performance, reliability, and scalability.

- You have demonstrated the ability to lead and inspire diverse engineering teams, driving a culture of technical excellence.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and influence decision-making.

- We are looking for exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering high-impact results.
