As a Controls Specialist you will work Information Technology Group and reports to IT Director of Identity and Data Protection (IDP). The role requires a solid understanding of IT control frameworks for designing, managing, testing and remediation of IT controls with a specific focus on verification of operating efficiency of controls related to Sarbanes Oxley. Work with GRC team, IT Process and Control owners as well as our internal and external auditors to ensure the control in your ownership are effective.

What will you be doing

  • You will support the overall IDP framework at SN and play a key role in improving processes, automation of controls, performing audits and maintaining compliance.
  • Your dynamic, self-starter approach and ability to work independently, coupled with your skillset will enable you to support the delivery and verification of reliable, affordable and secure operations. The role owner will suit someone who is a good communicator, detail orientated and methodical.
  • IT Controls ownership; Supervise existing controls in IDP portfolio to ensure they are operating optimally by monitoring the performance and collecting evidence requested by audits. Ensuring failures are raised to management for corrective action and the corrective action verified. Find opportunities for improvement in the control framework in line with risk/benefit.
  • Support wider IDP initiatives; Support the IDP function by contributing to identity and access management, data protection and Information Security initiatives. Keep controls reporting and metrics on the overall state operating efficiency for IT management.
  • Support and implement to all IT policies, procedures and standards, including but not limited to, IT Guiding Principles, Project Management, Organizational Change, Internal and External Compliance such as Health Safety, Quality, Regulatory and Finance, and support of Internal, External Audits.

What will you need to be successful

  • Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology / Computer Science/ Computer Engineering.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current Information Security and IT Audit; e.g. CISA.
  • Experience: Minimum 4+years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years of that in a IAM or DLP role designing, auditing and verifying IT controls are operating efficiently.
  • Significant experience on IT controls development and audit, ideally in the following environments; Cloud, outsourced operations, Agile and DevOps with Healthcare/Life science experience.
  • Experience of Sarbanes Oxley IT General Controls, ISO27000 series. COBIT would be an advantage. Experience of working with GRC and/or Integrated Risk management tools a distinct advantage.
  • Experience of auditing large ERP systems such as SAP and Microsoft Axapta and services such as Microsoft Active Directory is an advantage.
  • Good communication organizational skills, ability to multi-task, good attention to details, excellent problem solving, and follow-up skills required.
