Lab Expert (Mechatronics and Prototype)

Role & responsibilities

• Machine Operations & Maintenance:
• Expertise in operating and maintaining CNC machines, 3D printers, laser cutters, and other fabrication tools.
• Troubleshoot machine-related issues and ensure optimal functioning.
• Provide support to students in understanding machinery and software (e.g., CNC software, 3D printing slicing tools).

• Teaching & Mentoring:
• Conduct hands-on workshops on machine operation, design principles, and safety protocols.
• Assist students in developing projects using advanced tools, from design to final prototype.
• Deliver technical support in a classroom setting and during independent student projects.

• Lab Management & Safety:
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient lab environment.
• Ensure that all machinery and equipment are well-maintained and compliant with safety regulations.
• Guide students on proper machine usage and safety measures.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related fields.
• Proven experience with CNC machines, 3D printers, and laser cutters.
• Strong knowledge of design software (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks, CNC-specific software).
• Excellent teaching and communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions.
