Key Responsibilities

1. Risk Assessment
• Evaluate health insurance applications to assess the risk profile of individuals, groups, or organizations.
• Analyze medical histories, lifestyle factors, demographic data, and occupational risks.
2. Policy Structuring
• Recommend coverage terms, premium rates, and policy exclusions based on underwriting guidelines and risk analysis.
• Customize policies to meet client needs while maintaining alignment with company goals.
3. Collaboration
• Work closely with insurance brokers to clarify policy terms, address queries, and negotiate terms with clients.
• Liaise with reinsurers when required for high-risk cases.
4. Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure underwriting decisions comply with industry regulations and company standards.
• Stay updated on health insurance legislation and market trends.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting
• Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and client interactions.
• Prepare reports to track risk trends, policy performance, and premium calculations.
6. Continuous Improvement
• Assist in developing and refining underwriting policies and practices.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge of health risks and insurance products.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare, or related field. Certifications in insurance are a plus.
• Experience: Fresher or maximum 1 years of experience in underwriting, preferably in health insurance or a brokerage setting.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in underwriting software, data analysis tools, and MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of health insurance products, medical terminology, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
