1. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand Customer Requirements
a) Key customer interface for customer programs
b) Understand RFQ/SOR and respond to customer
c) Technical sign off based on SOR
d) Submit BoM to sales team and alignment on sign off
Resource and Budget Planning for program
a) Cross functional interactions within R&D to review design
b) Understand analysis and testing requirements and prepare DVP&R
c) Prepare program development budget and share with sales
d) Prepare DFMEA and counter measures for failure modes
Technical Program Execution
a) Key interface for cross functional alignment like manufacturing, purchase and plants
b) Drive standardization and design modularity
c) Prototype quality and delivery management
d) Planning and Execution of DVP&R
SOP and Handing Over to plant
a) Alignment with plant Industrialization before SOR
b) Resolve PTR issues during PPAP
c) PPAP on time and ensure process validation (PV)
d) Ensure vehicle validation at customer and resolve issues if any
e) Document lessons learnt
Technology Development
a) Advise management on new developments in technology that may potentially impact profitability, cost structures and Customer requirements
b) Keep track of new developments at customer and initiate technology assessment programs with SMIL concepts / advanced engineering
c) Regular competitive benchmark and feedback to functions on capability enhancements
d) Establish engineering competencies to develop India specific products and OEM export product development projects
People and performance management
a) Facilitate development of direct reports through learning and development initiatives,
b) Coaching and guidance to young product engineers
c) Performance management of direct reports
Functional Skills and Key Behavioral Attributes
Passenger Car Chassis Experience (Product knowledge / Domain knowledge)
Experience on passenger car chassis, handling suspension system program. Experience on evaluating bush for suspension arms and ball joint calculations and validations. Knowledge of product development, BoPs and validation
Technical Program Management Ability for collective overview of technical issues (Design, Manufacturing, Purchasing)
Good in listening and understanding others view. Mostly data driven decision making and meeting customer deliverables
Exposure to manufacturing processes, prototype, and purchase
Communication Skills (Good written and spoken communication)
Must have excellent communication skills.
Effective execution of programs (Schedule, resources and on time delivery)
Must have handle full cycle of program from RFQ to SOP
Design/Analysis Tools and Process
Awareness of Design and Analysis processes for product development
Testing and Validation
Awareness of testing and validation processes along with Design and Analysis.
