Job Description: PE Assembly Department Lead
Job Title: PE Assembly Department Lead
Department: Production Engineering (PE) - Assembly
Reports To: Manager / Divisional Head
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assembly Department Oversight:
- Oversee all activities within the PE Assembly department, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
2. Machine Installation and Commissioning:
- Support and guide PE team members in machine installation and commissioning activities.
3. Issue Resolution:
- Address in-process defects, customer complaints, and process-related constraints on a day-to-day basis.
4. Interdepartmental Communication:
- Collaborate with related departments to achieve targets in quality, cost, delivery, and safety.
5. Supplier Development:
- Lead initiatives for new supplier selection to reduce equipment costs.
6. Project Implementation:
- Implement new projects as per schedule, ensuring there are no delays.
7. ISO/EMS Documentation:
- Plan, guide, and ensure the preparation of ISO/EMS-related documentation.
8. Localized Part Integration:
- Ensure proper documentation and equipment modifications for localized part implementations.
9. Continuous Improvement (Kaizens):
- Guide and motivate the team to achieve maximum participation in Kaizen activities.
10. Team Training and Skill Development:
- Plan and conduct training sessions based on team members' skill evaluations.
11. Safety Compliance:
- Ensure the incorporation of sufficient safety measures in new machines and processes.
12. Divisional Objectives:
- Develop plans to meet and exceed divisional objectives in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
13. North Branch Projects:
- Ensure smooth implementation and execution of new projects in the North branch.
14. Recruitment:
- Actively participate in the recruitment process for departmental subordinates.
15. Process Studies:
- Conduct regular process capability studies, gauge R&R, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) reviews.
16. Performance Appraisal:
- Conduct subordinate appraisals and provide improvement feedback for individual development.
17. Equipment Manufacturer Selection:
- Lead the selection process for equipment manufacturers and coordinate supplier development plans.
18. Chronic Issue Resolution:
- Facilitate effective communication within the team and with stakeholders to resolve chronic issues.
19. Asset Management:
- Oversee fixed asset activities related to the plant and coordinate with Accounts/Production Control (PC) for seamless operations.
20. Capability Studies:
- Periodically review and implement capability and MSA studies for both existing and new products.
21. Organizational Stock Activities:
- Participate in the organization's stock-taking activities.
22. Process Optimization:
- Analyze and address process constraints and productivity issues, devising and implementing countermeasures.
23. Budget Planning:
- Plan and monitor PE Assembly-related budgets to ensure effective utilization of funds.
24. Annual Gorika Activities:
- Develop and implement yearly Gorika activities for the PE Assembly department.
25. Manufacturing Improvement:
- Assist in formulating plans and policies to enhance manufacturing processes and product quality.
26. Process Audits:
- Support periodic process checks and audits to maintain robust systems.
27. Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Manager, Divisional Head, Plant Head, or Director.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Production preferred) or a related field.
- Proven experience in production engineering and assembly operations.
- Strong understanding of ISO/EMS documentation and compliance.
- Knowledge of Kaizen, MSA, R&R, and process capability studies.
Work Environment:
- This role requires both office and shop floor presence to manage operations effectively.
