JOB DESCRIPTION

The role is focused on supporting the Project Research business in evaluating and delivering multiple carbon mitigation projects under various recognized voluntary carbon standards
You will work closely with an experienced project research team and Portfolio Management colleagues providing management information and supporting the origination and evaluation of new project data through due diligence and targeted research.
An understanding of renewable energy projects, cookstove projects, Forestry projects, ARR projects, and new emerging technologies such as CCS, hydrogen, etc.; Experience working on GHG emission reduction initiatives, and delivering decarbonization strategies.

Relevant experience and knowledge in NBS and Non-NBS carbon offset markets with research experience
in forestry, environment, or sustainability.

• Ability to navigate large and complex data sets and extract insightful observations.
• Research and analytical skills - you can identify, review, and synthesize key findings in scientific and engineering literature, reports, and other relevant publications to and project teams.
• You will be at the center of accelerating the growth of the carbon project development portfolio, building on our leading reputation. Managing a project database and presenting weekly and monthly reports delivery for the Project research team, requiring close working.
• He or she will have to present and discuss internally (and externally) his/her findings and the related outputs. Be autonomous and able to work independently
• Have appropriate and competent interaction with internal and external parties Making value-added contributions in internal and external meetings

Experience required: Minimum one year of experience in Carbon Project Development (PDD, MR, Addressing VR queries) for Renewable projects, cookstove projects, forestry projects, ARR projects, Waste projects, chemical projects etc.

• The person should have good exposure to carbon projects
• Knowledge of Carbon accounting protocols for CDM, VERRA, GS, GCC, ACR, CAR etc frameworks.
• He or she should have published a minimum of 1 research paper/book chapter in a reputed journal
• Know carbon accounting calculations and relevant methodologies.
• be a graduate in a discipline with a technical background related to any of the bachelors in environmental science/ MSC in Wildlife Science/MSC in Forestry/ PG in Forestry Management/ Bachelor in Agricultural engineering/MTech in sustainable energy
• have relevant work experience preferably in a research or analytical environment
• be technically sound and comfortable working with and drawing conclusions from data have good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access)
• be fluent in English (written and spoken)
